It's important that you make sure that anything you put on the resin is not going to damage it. MSC seems to be the top recommendation, and it's my favourite to use. You can also use 'Testor's Dullcoat', which is a lot easier to find since it's used in a lot of other hobbywork. You can look for it at art specialty stores or places that sell things like model kits. :3
BUT! If you can't find either of those, just make sure you ask around. Den of Angels has toooons of info on what's good to use. Make sure to get some advice there, since I only have experience with those two products!
This faceup is kinda old now, too, and I've gotten in a lot more practice.
